Veteran healthcare investor, strategist and innovator Karim Botros joins Abundant Venture Partners as Managing Director, Venture Funds

Botros will play a critical role in overseeing venture funds and driving portfolio value creation

July 10, 2025 – Chicago, Illinois – Abundant Venture Partners, in its mission to grow high value, sustainable companies that benefit healthcare provider organizations, announces the appointment of Karim Botros as Managing Director, Venture Funds. In this role, Botros will oversee Abundant’s S1 and A1 funds, support the origination and execution of high-potential investments, lead efforts to develop a growth equity fund, and manage relationships with Abundant’s health system LPs with the goal of driving portfolio value creation.

Botros brings decades of healthcare leadership to Abundant. He previously served as Managing Partner at Echo Health Ventures, where he led investments in innovative healthcare technology and services companies. Prior to that, Botros served as Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at The MetroHealth System. During his tenure at MetroHealth, he also oversaw primary care, behavioral health, dentistry, women’s health, and pediatric service lines. Before his tenure at MetroHealth, Botros led business and corporate development at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Along with his work at Abundant, Botros will continue to serve on the board of JumpStart, Inc., Medix Infusion, Perlman Clinic, and Woven X. He holds a Master of Business Administration, Master of Manufacturing Engineering, and bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University.
